Keri Porter, Program Director
Keri Porter studied psychology at the University of Toledo. She is a mother of two, who discovered the Sensory LearningSM Program four years ago when looking for a comprehensive therapy for her first born, Caleb, then recently diagnosed with Autism. Upon his completion of the integrated sensory (IS) therapy, his improvements were overwhelmingly significant creating an invaluable impact on his life and the family! Caleb’s profound improvements inspired Keri to become a parent advocate, counselling parents and informing them of the Sensory LearningSM Program. Keri’s passion for the program inspired her to become a Certified Program Specialist and then a Provider, bringing this amazing program to Florida’s Suncoast. Becoming a provider requires a combination of related professional expertise, the purchase of Sensory Learning equipment and proprietary software with extensive training at the Sensory Learning Center International headquarters in Boulder, Colorado. There she learned the intricacies of the nervous system and how the senses play a vital role in our development, learning and social awareness. Her professional relationship with the executive director continues today, providing additional support to New Path Development Center and those who we assist through the program.
Keri has administered the Sensory LearningSM Program to patients of all ages and disabilities. As a parent and a professional, it has become her mission to advise families of the intricacies relating to sensory processing and how it relates to their loved ones. She has witnessed each participant’s noticeable developmental improvements, and how it has provided a positive change for many families.
The Sensory LearningSM Program
The Sensory LearningSM Program has had a high rate of success providing hope for individuals affected with various sensory challenges, caused by brain injury and brain disorders. Those who have gone through the program have reported dramatic and steady changes in their or their loved one’s lives and we hope that we can assist you on your journey to wellness.
How the Sensory LearningSM Program Works
The Sensory Learning Program is a multi-modal (auditory, visual & vestibular/movement) therapy designed to improve sensory input by stimulating these primary sensory systems at the same time. The Sensory Learning Program requires the primary nervous systems to process information simultaneously in order to help the individual better adapt to their natural environment.
