It started with a gift.
One day, many beers ago, Ron Gamble’s wife, Sheryl, presented him with a gift-wrapped box containing a bucket, a funnel, tubing, and various other odd-looking components. It was a simple beer-making kit. With a few carefully chosen ingredients, the possibilities for experimenting with this new homebrewing hobby were endless.
Hobby turned to passion, and Ron eventually hung up his suit and tie in favor of a brewer’s shirt. After attending rigorous training at the Siebel Institute and managing brewhouse and cellar operations at several breweries in the New England area, Ron and Sheryl packed their now expanded homebrewing system and headed back home to sunny Florida.
Ron, a former Naval Flight Officer, headed a motley group of military veterans sharing an enthusiastic desire for producing and enjoying premium craft beer and formed Veterans United Craft Brewery in 2013.
With Ron at the helm as our brewmaster and a team of committed staff and volunteers, the company is focused on achieving the goal of becoming one of the finest craft breweries in the region.

We are excited to count ourselves as one of the newest microbreweries headquartered in Jacksonville, and the first packaging operation on the Southside.
If you don’t already live here, it may be unclear as to how this place is different from other cities in Florida. Whether you are near the beach, downtown, at a military base, or on the fringe of the wilderness, the diverse neighborhoods share the same themes: family, fellowship, pride, service. There is no substitution for all the eclectic charm, energy, and warmth radiating from the people who make up this town.
Jacksonville’s growing love and support of local craft beer only strengthens our desire to continue to build on a tradition of community and excellence. We hope to create incredible beers and a memorable experience and we are honored to plant our brewing roots here.
Our Mission
We are dedicated to satiating healthy appetites with flavorful beer through the use of fresh, quality ingredients and hope to expand the definition of what beer can be through our hard work and innovation. We also value ideas and technologies that reinforce our social and environmental responsibility to our local community.

The Brewery
Our doors are now open, and we’re committed to making this the best place in Southside Jacksonville to enjoy a refreshing and tasty beer, brewed right on the premises.
We are beginning our operations with a 20 bbl brewhouse (consisting of a combined mash/lauter tun and brewkettle/whirlpool) and several 40 bbl cylindro-conical fermenters. If you happen to have the chance to come out and visit us, we’ll be busy milling our grain, draining the wort, carbonating some good stuff in the bright tank, or keeping up with the meticulous tank cleaning that’s done after each batch.
It’s not very often you get to see first-hand how something you consume is created. Everyone who wants to experience handcrafted deliciousness is welcome to take a tour of the back-of-the-house and then pull up to the taproom bar for a refreshing and relaxing pint of awesome. From its origin as a recipe to its culmination as a fantastic beer, you have to check out what a handful of amazing ingredients can turn into.
