Our Mission
Our goal is to provide Task Trained Service Dogs to ex-defence and emergency services personnel who are suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
A Task Trained Service Dog is a working dog specifically trained to help a person or group of people with a disability or a specific need.
We aim to improve the lives of these service personnel by providing Tasked Trained Service Dogs that help people transition from combat or high stress environments to general society.
How We Help People Recover From Trauma
People who have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder may experience isolation, low mood and struggle with managing daily life and relationships. In the past, PTSD was referred to as combat fatigue, shell shock and was mostly associated with those in the Armed Forces.
In more recent years, people have come to realise that those serving in “front line” services, such as in the police, ambulance and fire services, are also at increased risk of developing PTSD through what they face almost on a daily basis.
