But we still do things the same way Floyd “Sonny” Tillman and his wife, Lucille, did back then. We still slow-smoke over oak for up to 12 hours at a time. We still serve generous portions. In The Community
Spreading the spirit of BBQ is all about giving back to the people who mean something to us. And since you’re like family to us, we want to be like family for you too! That’s why Sonny’s BBQ Franchise owner, Edward Titen and his management team created BBQ to the Rescue, a not for profit organization that helps raise funds for people who are in need of a helping hand. The smoker on wheels, designed specifically for BBQ to the Rescue, is sent out into the Palm Harbor, Largo and New Port Richey communities to spread the spirit of BBQ. The truck is sent out with the goal to improve the quality of life for those less fortunate. By raising funds, Sonny’s BBQ is supporting the people who have helped support us all these years. We aim to do this by donating 100% of the proceeds made at each BBQ to the Rescue event to a specific cause – and in turn, help ease the burden of life’s tough obstacles for these deserving people. The passion behind BBQ to the Rescue stems from our desire to make the biggest difference we can for the people we care about the most. Sonny’s BBQ donates the truck, the food and the time to make sure that happens. All you need to do is show up and enjoy some delicious BBQ!
